What happens during a service in the synagogue? How can you keep Shabbat? And where could you buy the tastiest challahs in Groningen in the past? Our expert guides are happy to answer your questions!
Guided tour of the synagogue
A guided tour of the synagogue is provided every hour on the hour. Only with a guide you can visit the sacred part of the synagogue, where the services take place. A tour takes about an hour.
Guided tour of the former Jewish quarter
On Sundays, our guides will take you to the old Jewish city of Groningen. In the vicinity of the synagogue there are still many places that are connected to the former Jewish inhabitants of this neighbourhood. This walk takes about an hour and can be combined with your visit to the synagogue.
Multilingualism
A guided tour can often be given in English or German.
